Actor Harish Kanaran slams fake news about his health: “Came to know from the paper!”

Popular Malayalam actor Harish Kanaran has strongly reacted to a fake news report claiming his health was in a critical condition. The misleading news surfaced on an online platform, sparking confusion and concern among fans. Harish himself responded with a mix of disbelief and sarcasm, pointing out the irresponsible behavior of such outlets.
“I have absolutely no connection to this kind of baseless news”
“It was only when they reported I was in critical condition that I found out myself,” Harish remarked on his Facebook post. “I have absolutely no connection to this kind of baseless news. Will the channel or the reporter who posted this nonsense at least stand next to me while filing such reports?”
“Admin… if it’s for reach, why not look into your own home?”
The actor’s friend and fellow comedian Nirmal Palazhi also came out in his support, calling out the page for using such misleading tactics purely for social media reach. He commented, “Admin… if it’s for reach, why not look into your own home? Posting photos of artists who haven’t harmed you in any way – is this what it’s come to? We performed together just last night and parted ways. Harish only came to know about this when someone from the press called him after reading the report.”
Netizens react
The incident has sparked a backlash on social media, with many urging for stricter action against pages and websites that spread fake or unverified news. Commenters have demanded that such irresponsible platforms be shut down and have encouraged Harish Kanaran to take legal steps. One comment read, “Admin should get the punishment he deserves... This should be faced legally…” Another comment read, “Please take legal action on this.” A third one commented, “Report that page and also file a complaint please.”
