Bollywood star Parineeti Chopra has voiced her concern over the spread of misinformation by certain segments of the Indian media amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.

Taking to Instagram, Chopra emphasized the need for responsible journalism, especially during periods of national uncertainty. “At a time like this, circulating unverified news is extremely damaging,” she noted. “It spreads unnecessary fear and confusion among the public.”

She appealed to media organizations to prioritize truth and accuracy over sensationalism, and encouraged the public to follow updates only from verified, official sources.

Her comments come as mainstream Indian media faces increasing criticism for promoting aggressive narratives and dramatizing recent military events involving Pakistan. The frustration is no longer limited to viewers — public figures are now also speaking out.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha recently expressed similar sentiments, calling out Indian news channels for turning serious coverage into dramatic performances. In a post shared on social media, she remarked, “Some of our media has made a mockery of journalism. Stop scaring people — just report the truth.”

Sinha further stated, “It’s alarming to see how something as serious as conflict is being turned into a show. Journalism must focus on facts, not fear-mongering.”

Both actresses’ statements reflect a growing demand for accountability in media coverage during times of national sensitivity.
