Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh caught everyone’s attention with his first performance in Met Gala 2025. With his grand ‘Maharaja Look’, he presented Punjabi culture on a global stage. Now, a nail artist has rejuvenated his unique look through nail extension, which is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
On 10 May 2025, a nail artist using a gel nail lacker launched Diljit’s Met Gala Look on Nail Extension. The art showed the nuances of the neckpiece inspired by Diljit’s Jvel-Staded Turban, emerald-studded jewelry, and Maharaja Bhupinder Singh. The artist prepared this look so beautifully with small brush and accurate technology that the fans were stunned. One user wrote on social media, ‘This nail art is as grand as Diljit’s look!’
On 5 May 2025, Diljit made his presence felt at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York at Met Gala. He wore the Ivory Sherwani designed by Prabal Gurung, a map of Punjab and a cape adorned with Gurmukhi script, and a jewl-staded turban. His look was completed by Golecha Jewels’ diamond necklace and lion -headed Kirana, which reflected the grandeur of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh. Diljit wrote on Instagram, ‘I am Punjab. Inspired by the Black Dandiism theme, I brought my turban, culture and mother tongue Punjabi into Met Gala. ‘
Diljit’s stylist Sohail Mughal told a leading newspaper that he wanted to borrow a 1000 carat necklace of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh, which was made by Cartier in 1928. But this could not be possible due to sealed in the museum. Subsequently, Golecha Jewels created jewelry inspired by the Maharaja collection, including Turban brooch and necklace. This look of Diljit was chosen by Vogue’s readers the best look of Met Gala 2025.
