Former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad has slammed Turkey for reportedly helping out Pakistan with drones amid the border tensions with India. In a statement on X, Prasad claimed that India should have Shatrubodh, which translates to better awareness of the enemy nation in case of future conflicts.Days after the terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, allegedly caused by Pakistan's militant groups, Pakistan launched Operation Sindoor to target the terrorists. However, several media reports claimed that Turkish C-130E Hercules transport aircraft had landed in Pakistan carrying some arms and ammunitions, signalling Turkish as a close ally of the Asian nation. However, the Turkish government strongly denied the accusation, and explained with the below statement, as quoted by The Economic Times:"A cargo plane from Turkiye landed in Pakistan for refuelling. It then continued on its route. Speculative news made outside of statements of authorised persons and institutions should not be relied upon."With ceasefire announced for now, Prasad recalled how India had helped Turkey when the latter experienced a earthquake and wrote on X:"We as a nation should have Shatrubodh. The countries which were against us, Turkey for example, India was helping them in the 2023 earthquakes under “Operation Dost” , And although as Hon PM says we are a Buddh ka desh and not Yudhh ka desh, in this yuga it’s important to have discretion and Shatrubodh."Additionally, the Indian government, on Friday, stated that a Pakistani army fired Turkey's SONGAR drones at numerous locations in their country.Venkatesh Prasad was involved in a heated confrontation with Aamer Sohail during 1996 World Cup gamePrasad, meanwhile, was notably involved in a heated on-field confrontation with ex-Pakistan opener Aamer Sohail during the 1996 World Cup quarter-final in Bengaluru. With Sohail belting a boundary through the off-side, he pointed to Prasad, letting out a repulsive gesture. However, the right-arm speedster came back splendidly, flattening the left-hander's off-stump the very next ball and gave him a fiery send-off. India had eventually defeated Pakistan by 39 runs.
