New Delhi: The Federation of Western India Cine Employees have offered unconditional support to the Film Employees Federation of South India for one day non-cooperation in Tamil Nadu to be held on May 14 in protest against the unjust action of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council.

General Secretary of FWICE Ashok Dubey confirmed about the participation in the one day non-cooperation and said, “it has come to our notice that Tamil Film Producers Council is attempting to form a parallel federation of workers thereby undermining the authority, unity and welfare of existing federations like FEFSI. Their efforts to employ such parallel workers is not acceptable but is detrimental to the unity of the workers across the country.”

The case

The case stems from FEFSI’s alleged refusal to cooperate in ongoing film shoots and production activities involving TFPC members. This unexpected standoff has disrupted numerous film projects across Tamil Nadu, raising concerns within the industry about the impact on schedules and finances.

The conflict between FEFSI and TFPC has been detrimental to the proper functioning of the film industry in Tamil Nadu. The case between the two is currently being undertaken in court as well.
