Washington, DC: Michael Kugelman, a prominent American foreign policy expert, praised the Indian leadership’s reaction to Pakistan as part of Operation Sindoor. He emphasized how India showed excellent leadership skills in handling the problem.

Michael Kugelman noted that the terror assault at Pahalgam was distinct from other crises, saying, “This crisis was so different on so many levels.” First, this problem was brought on by an exceptionally violent assault. Tourists and civilians were specifically targeted and attacked due to their practice of Hinduism. This, in my opinion, had a unique kind of traumatic effect on India that we have not seen with earlier ones, and I believe that this called for a tremendous response from the Indian government and, undoubtedly, a large portion of the Indian populace as well.

He emphasized, “The first Indian bombings on Pakistan were very intense, unlike anything we have seen in decades since the war of 1971. That’s a significant change, then.

According to Kugelman, who was speaking to the media report, “This is another reason why so many capitals around the world, Washington and London and the EU and various capitals in the Middle East, were so concerned about the direction of this crisis.” He noted that the fighting has been going on for a longer time than in the past.

Kugelman praised India’s reaction and pointed out the leadership gap between India and Pakistan amid the crisis.
He said, “If you look at the last few crises between India and Pakistan-, 2019, and now this recent one—it’s the same government in India, the Modi Government, and the leadership has responded in similar ways—hitting back, projecting strength, confidence, defiance, and so on.”

According to Kugelman, the outcomes shown by the Indian government convey the crucial message that the country has met its strategic and tactical objectives for self-defense.

Following a devastating incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, last month that claimed the lives of 26 tourists, Operation Sindoor was initiated on May 7 to target many terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

The most senior operational commanders from each of the Indian Armed Forces’ three wings shared key findings from Operation Sindoor during a joint news briefing on Sunday at the National Media Centre.

The raids killed more than 100 terrorists and severely damaged Pakistan’s military capabilities and destroyed 11 air bases inside the country. With a focus on minimizing civilian losses, the air, land, and sea operations were executed with calibrated caution.

On Sunday, Air Marshal AK Bharti emphasized India’s military might, saying that it can target all of the systems at Pakistani bases.

According to Air Marshal AK Bharti on Sunday, Operation Sindoor precisely met its goals and eliminated terror camps. He emphasized that the world can see the effect of the activities. “Have we succeeded in our goals of destroying the terrorist camps?” Air Marshal Bharti asked, “The answer is a thumping Yes, and the outcomes are visible to everyone on the planet.

“This time, if Pakistan dares to take any action, Pakistan knows what we are going to do, that’s all,” Vice Admiral AN Pramod told Pakistan at the briefing, sending a strong warning.
