Actress Shiny Doshi , who was last seen in Pandya Store as Dhara Pandya and has featured in shows like Saraswatichandra , recently opened up about her troubled past with her father. During an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Shiny spoke about her difficult relationship with her father and how he made some derogatory comments about her when she was merely 16-year-old.

Shiny shared that while her mother had once aspired to become a doctor, she stood firmly behind Shiny's decision to follow a career in acting. In the beginning, many of her relatives looked down on her choice and dismissed it. Their attitude shifted only after Saraswatichandra turned out to be a major success.

When the host asked her if her father backed her decision, Shiny got emotional and revealed that many of her family members and even her father called her 'prost*****. Recalling her past, she shared, "Jhagde mein bol dete the. Meri print shoots Ahmedabad mein kaafi late chalti thi — kabhi kabhi 2 ya 3 baje raat ko pack-up hota tha. Mumma har shoot mein mere saath hoti thi, tab main sirf 16 saal ki thi. Aur jab hum ghar aate the, toh aisa nahi tha ki woh poochhte, ‘Tum theek ho? Safe ho?’ Woh kharab words bolte the — jaise, ‘Raat ke 3 baje tak beti ko le jaa rahi ho? Dhandha karwane le jaa rahi ho kya?’ (Back when I was just 16, my print shoots in Ahmedabad often went on until very late — sometimes wrapping up as late as 2 or 3 in the morning. My mom was always by my side during those shoots. But when we got home, instead of being asked things like “Are you okay?” or “Did you get home safe?”, we were met with hurtful comments. He would say things like, “You're taking your daughter out at 3 a.m.? What, you’re pimping her out?’). He had a very bad language.”

On being asked if she has forgiven her father, she said, "Mujhe closure he nahi mila kabhi... main shayad roz unse baat karrti hoon unko sorry bolti hoon.. Mujhe kabhi laga nahi tha main unko do saal ke baad aise dekhungi....baap toh baap hota hai na... These are like certain knots which you can’t untie. You just cannot. I’ve learnt my lessons, to move ahead in life but I still feel the absence of a father or a fatherly figure to back me up. I call myself my mamma's warrior."
