Justin Baldoni has decided to avoid the lights, cameras, and red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for his upcoming film with Scarlett Johansson, amid the ongoing legal drama with his ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star, Blake Lively.

Why is Justin Baldoni not likely to attend Cannes?According to Daily Mail, “Baldoni will not be attending the Eleanor the Great premiere at Cannes. Wayfarer Studios will continue to champion this film and will have a presence at the festival to support the cast and filmmakers.”

The concerns arose after the possibility that Johansson’s directorial debut would be butchered from the discussion, and the legal drama involving her ex-husband, Ryan Reynolds, would overpower the film. Even though the film competes at the festival, Baldoni chose to step out of the narrative.

Meanwhile, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are busy posing at the premieres of the former’s film, ‘Another Simple Favour,’ starring Anna Kendrick and Michele Morrone, alongside Blake.

What is the Lively-Baldoni drama? For the unversed, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are in a legal drama after she accused Baldoni and Wayfarer CEO Jamey Heath of sexual harassment, and planning a smear campaign against her during the release of ‘It Ends With Us.’

As a response to the allegations, Baldoni launches a $400 million lawsuit against Blake, Ryan, the New York Times (the one to report the claim), and a few others from her team. Last month, the famed attorney, Lisa Bloom, revealed how the lawsuit could potentially backfire on Scarlett’s film.
