In the first week of June, Uttar Pradesh will open its first super-specialty orthopedics clinic, providing top-notch care for bone disorders in patients of all ages. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will officially open the 340-bed facility at King George Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, which will include cutting-edge amenities and contemporary medical equipment.
The new facility will include a number of specialized departments, such as pediatric orthopedics, sports medicine, and orthopedic surgery. Additionally, it would provide thorough diagnostic services, including pathology and radiological exams. Beds and other equipment from the Limb Center are being moved to the new structure, which is being built on the site of the former infectious disease hospital, according to KGMU spokeswoman Dr. KK Singh.
The seven-story building will include a state-of-the-art operating room, digital X-ray, CT, MRI, and all kinds of blood testing. In addition, there will be a cafeteria, physicians’ offices, underground parking, and a hospital revolving fund store. In order to guarantee prompt patient transportation, KGMU will also provide pre-hospital trauma treatment services for both pediatric and adult patients in addition to training courses for medical professionals, law enforcement, and ambulance personnel.
The facility will be open around-the-clock and provide the following services:
-340 beds: 60 for sports medicine, 60 for pediatric orthopedics, and 220 for orthopedic surgery
24 HDU beds and 24 private rooms
Two tiny OT rooms and eight big OT rooms
– 8 OPD rooms
A 3 Tesla MRI, a 128-slice CT scan, a digital X-ray, an ultrasound, and full blood tests are among the diagnostic tools available. There will be a special counter for patients with limited incomes, and reasonably priced medications and surgical supplies will be accessible 24/7.

With the completion of the Super-Specialty Center under the direction of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sonia Nityanand, state residents would no longer have to go to Delhi or Mumbai for bone-related therapies. The facility will save patients time by offering thorough diagnostic services in addition to therapy and surgery.
Specialized facilities like the orthopedic tumor and hand surgery units will also be operative in the new structure, according to Dr. Kumar Shantanu, Medical Superintendent of the Orthopedics Super Specialty Center.
