Shikha Mankotia Receives Bharat Gaurav 2025 Award for Yoga Excellence

Recognition for Yoga Contributions


DHARAMSHALA: Shikha Mankotia, hailing from Challet village in the Amb subdivision of Una district, Himachal Pradesh, has been awarded the prestigious 'Bharat Gaurav 2025' for her exceptional contributions to yoga.


The award was presented by the Swarnim Himachal Jan Jagran Samiti during their annual event, 'Sneh Milan 2025', which took place in Pinjore, Haryana.


The ceremony featured Dr. Shabab Alam, Chairman of the Indian First Aid Council, as the chief guest, alongside Dr. Kuldeep Singh Mehta, the founder and state president of the samiti, and other committee members.


In addition to the Bharat Gaurav award, the organization recognized other notable individuals with the Himachal Gaurav Awards.


Academic and Professional Achievements

Currently pursuing a PhD in Yoga at Shoolini University in Solan, Shikha has previously received accolades such as the Best Yoga Teacher Award from the Indian Yoga Therapist Association in December 2023 and the Swami Dhirendra Brahmachari Yoga Shri Award from the Bharatiya Yoga Shikshak Mahasangh in 2024. She also serves as the State Chairperson for Himachal Pradesh with the International Human Rights and Crime Control Organisation.


A qualified yoga therapist, Shikha has worked in Singapore and now provides online yoga consultations. She attributes her achievements to the unwavering support of her family, including her parents, in-laws, husband, mentors, and elders.


Commitment to Wellness

Shikha is passionate about promoting yoga as a means to enhance well-being. She focuses on educating students in schools and colleges about how yoga can alleviate stress and improve overall performance.


Additionally, she offers guidance to expectant mothers, helping them experience a joyful pregnancy through prenatal yoga and Garbh Sanskar practices. “Yoga transformed my life, and I aspire to assist others in achieving similar changes,” she expressed, emphasizing her goal of fostering a healthier, more aware society.


International Recognition

In a proud moment for Himachal Pradesh, Shikha has been invited to the 2nd International Women Parliamentary Conference in Dubai on June 30, where she will receive the Iconic Award. This international accolade highlights her commitment and serves as a source of pride for both Una district and the entire state.
