Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Congress leaders over their remarks following the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Accusing them of echoing enemy narratives, Vijayendra questioned whether their comments were doing more harm at home than to adversaries across the border.
“Indian missiles seem to have hurt the Congress leaders more than the Pakistanis!” the Shikaripura MLA remarked in a social media post on X, expressing concern over Congress statements allegedly being cited in Pakistan military briefings.
He claimed that in their “relentless campaign” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leaders were ignoring the strategic brilliance and bravery displayed by the Indian armed forces.
Vijayendra cited Operation Sindoor as a “resounding success” that dealt a decisive blow to terror networks operating from across the border. “What exactly is the Congress trying to achieve by undermining our forces’ unequivocal victory?” he questioned.
He further claimed that 11 Pakistan Air Force bases had been rendered inoperable by the Indian strike, forcing Pakistan to seek a ceasefire.
Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s firm stance on national security, Vijayendra recalled his remark that “blood and water cannot flow together,” referring to the continued suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty as a sign of India putting its interests first.
“Rather than belittling our forces with petty politics, Congress must recognise the magnitude of our armed forces’ achievements and the leadership that made it possible,” he added.
The BJP’s response comes amid ongoing political debate over the impact and implications of the recent ceasefire and cross-border operations.
