Odisha's Chief Minister Unveils Major Development Initiatives in Mayurbhanj

Significant Development Projects Launched

Baripada: On Tuesday, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced a series of development projects totaling over Rs 420.13 crore, alongside a commitment to establish industries worth Rs 10,000 crore in the Mayurbhanj district.


During his final day in Mayurbhanj, Majhi inaugurated 133 projects valued at over Rs 328 crore and laid the groundwork for 52 additional initiatives costing Rs 91 crore.


The chief minister revealed plans for a Plus-II college at the Bisoi Block Headquarters and declared that the mini stadium in Bisoi would be named in honor of the esteemed freedom fighter Dharanidhar Naik, with a statue to be erected there.


Majhi emphasized that these new initiatives are designed to enhance the welfare of the tribal communities in the region, marking the beginning of a new development phase in areas such as Rairangpur, Kusumi, Bijatsala, Bahalda, Jamda, and Tiring.


He projected that the anticipated Rs 10,000 crore investment in the industrial sector would create job opportunities for local youth.


Discussing the projects launched, the chief minister noted improvements in rural drinking water access, piped water supply, educational infrastructure, banking services, health facilities, road construction, and other government infrastructures, all aimed at enriching tribal culture.


Majhi stated that his administration has been actively delivering on electoral promises during its first 11 months in office.


In addition to opening the four gates of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri and launching the 'Subhadra' scheme for women, he mentioned that farmers are now eligible for a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 3,100 per quintal of paddy.


He reassured citizens of ongoing improvements in rural infrastructure to stimulate economic growth in these areas.


The chief minister also announced the introduction of 36 key programs aimed at achieving various objectives by 2036.


Majhi expressed his government's ambition to create a prosperous Odisha, excelling across sectors such as health, education, industry, agriculture, and infrastructure.


At the event held at the Bisoi mini stadium, he distributed death assistance to local beneficiaries, marriage incentives for laborers' daughters, and provided Rs 10 lakh in financial aid to women involved in self-help groups (SHGs).
