The Embassy of China in Malaysia in a statement Tuesday said the agreement will be in force for five years and will be automatically extended for another five years, Malay Mail reported.
“We are confident that this agreement will further promote people-to-people exchanges, enhance mutual understanding, and deepen multi-sector cooperation between both countries upon taking effect,” the embassy said.
Malaysia recently announced that its visa exemption for Chinese travelers would be extended for another five years, with the option to extend it for an additional five years, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said as cited by Named.
It first introduced visa-free policy for Chinese tourists in December 2023 and the policy had already been extended to 2026.
