Drivers faced chaos on a busy UK motorway over an ongoing police-led incident which caused six-mile queues.

Emergency services attended the scene on the M60 in Greater Manchester, with tailbacks between junctions 9 and 10. The exact nature of the incident is not yet known. The has contacted the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) for further information.

Initially, only traffic travelling anti-clockwise was being held by GMP. However, police have since closed both lanes of the motorways, with delays estimated at around 45 minutes.
