Apple is working on a new feature, after which users will be able to get accurate information about the battery of their iPhone. According to the report, Apple is working on a battery management feature in iOS 19, which will also support Apple Intelligence. After the arrival of this feature, information will be available in real time about how long and when the phone will be fully charged.
AI-equipped battery management
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is working on a feature that will save battery life smartly by analyzing data related to the iPhone's battery. This feature will be part of the Apple Intelligence platform and will optimize the battery by understanding app usage habits with the help of on-device processing. Apart from this, Apple will now also show iPhone users how long it will take for the device to be fully charged, which will be visible on the lock screen itself. This feature is already present in many Android smartphones.
All iPhones with iOS 19 will get the benefit.
According to the report, this AI-powered battery mode will not be limited to the latest iPhone models only, but will be made available in all iPhones supporting iOS 19. This will be a big change, as till now most of the features of Apple Intelligence have been limited to only iPhone 15 Pro and later models.
A boon for iPhone models with smaller batteries
While other companies are moving towards larger battery sizes (like 6000mAh in OnePlus 13), Apple is still stuck at 4685mAh battery (iPhone 16 Pro Max). But Apple brings strength in battery performance through its iOS and chip-level optimization. It is expected that a new model, which is being called iPhone 17 Air or iPhone 17 Slim, may be launched in Apple's upcoming smartphones which will have a relatively smaller battery. In such a situation, this new AI feature can help in making the battery of that device last longer.
