According to a report from RMC SportAdrien Rabiot (30) is likely to remain at Olympique de Marseille following the club securing their place in next season’s Champions League with a 3-1 win over Le Havre AC on Saturday night.

There had been reports that the club had agreed a gentleman’s agreement when he signed a two-year contract in September that would allow him to leave Marseille if they received an offer of €10 million.

However, the France international should remain with Phocaeans for next season, as he previously told reporters, “It wouldn’t make sense to put so much effort getting Marseille into the Champions League,” only to then leave once the club had reached Europe’s most prestigious competition.

With Rabiot entering the final year of his contract this summer, Marseille are reportedly keen to negotiate an extension with the midfielder and possibly upgrade his remuneration following a successful season where he has scored eight and assisted six across all competitions.
