Shahberi Road Widening Project: After being closed on March 25 for widening construction, commuters are still waiting for Shahberi Road to reopen. The construction to extend this important highway, which connects Gaur City in Noida to Crossing Republik in Ghaziabad, was originally planned to take 20 days.
The road was supposed to be widened by around 1.5 meters on both sides. Authorities have already established a new timetable for the project’s completion and reopening, nevertheless, since it was delayed.
The road will be fully prepared in a week, and the job is now just partly finished. People have already begun utilizing the finished route that connects Greater Noida West to Crossing Republik in Ghaziabad. The second lane’s construction is nearing completion.
“Within a week, the road widening project between Crossing Republik in Ghaziabad and Sector-4 in Greater Noida West would be finished. This will alleviate Shahberi’s traffic congestion problem. Prerna Singh, ACEO of the Greater Noida Authority, was reported by Hindustan as stating, “Drainage construction has also been done to address water discharge.”
This route, which begins in Greater Noida West near the Iteda roundabout, used to be around three meters wide. Everyday traffic jams were a typical problem since it was a single-lane route. Consequently, on March 25, the Greater Noida Authority started expanding the roughly 1.5-kilometer Shahberi Road. At a cost of Rs 3 crore, an RCC road with drainage on both sides is being built to guarantee longevity. After it is finished, the travel from Crossing Republik to Greater Noida West would go more smoothly.
The road has been enlarged by at least 1.5 meters on both sides, with certain portions being increased by up to 2 meters, according to Nitesh Kumar, manager of the Authority. The last stage of the widening project is underway. Commuters are already using the one lane that is finished.
