With reports that New Zealand sensation Kane Williamson is unlikely to come to Pakistan because of security concerns, the PSL is still facing challenges before it resumes.

The tenth season of the PSL began in Karachi on April 11 and included 37 international players.

Following a drone assault on a street next to Rawalpindi Stadium last Thursday, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) game between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings scheduled for May 8 was postponed.

Prior to being postponed on Friday, the PSL was originally scheduled to go to the United Arab Emirates.

Warner, a former Australian opener, told the Sydney Morning Herald that he intends to go back to Pakistan and play for the Karachi Kings in the remaining games.

Eight New Zealand PSL players, including former captain Kane Williamson, were reportedly hesitant to return despite assurances of security measures, according to Pakistani media.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the PSL would continue on May 17 after both nations agreed to a truce.

“On May 17, the PSL 2025 will continue, and on May 25, the final will take place. In a post on X, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said, “The League will continue where it left off, with six teams without any fear.”

According to a statement from the PSB, the playoffs and final will be held in Lahore, while the last four group matches will be played in the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), which was delayed owing to the India-Pakistan war, is also scheduled to resume on Saturday.
