In a horrifying incident in Ahmedabad's Hathijan area, a pet Rottweiler attacked and killed a 4-month-old girl while she was playing with her aunt. The attack also left the aunt injured, and she is currently receiving medical treatment. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, showing the tragic moment when the dog turned aggressive and pounced on the innocent child.

The incident occurred when a young woman, the dog’s owner, was walking with the Rottweiler and was distracted by a phone call. During this time, the dog slipped from her hands and attacked the child, who was playing nearby. The sudden ferocity of the Rottweiler shocked everyone, and despite efforts to intervene, the dog fatally injured the baby. The girl's aunt, who attempted to protect her, was also attacked but survived.

The baby girl succumbed to her injuries shortly after the attack. The police have registered a case against the dog's owner for negligence. Following the incident, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's CNCD team captured the dog and locked it in a cage.

This tragedy has raised serious concerns about the safety of aggressive dog breeds, such as Rottweilers, and the precautions needed when handling them. Veterinarians advise that aggressive breeds should undergo proper training and behavior assessments, especially in homes with children.
