The government is offering financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) to help eligible families build permanent houses. However, to receive this benefit, applicants must complete a mandatory housing survey. The deadline for this survey has already been extended twice, and the final date is May 15, 2025.
The government’s promise is clear: no poor family should continue to live in a kutcha (temporary) house. But this dream can only come true if beneficiaries cooperate by completing the survey on time. Without this survey, your name will not appear on the final beneficiary list, and you will miss out on the funds to build a pucca (permanent) house.
If you do not complete the survey by May 15, you will not be eligible to receive financial aid under PMAY-G this time. The survey is crucial as it verifies the eligibility and property details of applicants.
You don’t need to visit any government office to get the survey done. The government has launched two mobile apps that make this process simple and quick:
Awaasplus 2024 Survey
AadhaarFaceRD
Here’s how to proceed:
Download these apps on your smartphone.
Complete Aadhaar-based face verification.
Provide details of all family members.
Make sure the application is in the name of a female family member to increase your chances.
Enter details about your state, village, and your house or land.
Upload real-time photos of your existing kutcha house or vacant land.
Fill in your bank account details.
Share the design of your proposed permanent house.
Once you successfully submit this information and if you qualify, you will get the funds for your new house under the PMAY-G scheme.
If you face any trouble syncing the app or have other technical problems, don’t worry. You can call the government’s toll-free helpline number: 1800-110-111. The helpline staff will assist you in resolving your issues quickly.
The government will verify the survey data and finalize the beneficiary list. Only after this will the financial assistance be transferred to eligible families to build their permanent homes.
The survey deadline has already been extended twice.
The government is unlikely to extend the deadline further.
Timely completion of the survey is your responsibility to avoid losing the benefit.
Ensure all information and documents submitted are accurate.
