South African Players Who Will Miss IPL 2025:- Several teams are going to be lacking some of their overseas players in the playoffs as the South Africans who have been picked for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final will not be available for the last stage of the IPL 2025, reports ESPNcricinfo.

The rejigged IPL 2025 schedule will put strains on the franchises that will qualify for the playoffs as a number of crucial overseas stars won’t be available for the playoffs.

Earlier this month, the IPL 2025 was suspended on May 9 due to the cross-border rising tension between India and Pakistan. The tournament is now set to resume on May 17. However, with the final now taking place on June 3, it will clash with the England vs West Indies ODI series and the preparations of South Africans and Australians for the ICC WTC Final.

The South African players who are not part of the WTC Final squad will remain available for the playoffs.

According to ESPNcricinfo, eight South African players will not be available for the IPL playoffs as they will fly to the UK to prepare for the ICC WTC Final. They are Kagiso Rabada (Gujarat Titans), Aiden Markram (Lucknow Super Giants), Marco Jansen (Punjab Kings), Tristan Stubbs (Delhi Capitals), Lungi Ngidi (Royal Challengers Bengaluru), Wiaan Mulder (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch (both Mumbai Indians).

MI is the team most hit with the absence of the Protea stars as they have two of them: Rickelton and Bosch. Rickelton has been a key part of MI this season, scoring 336 runs in 12 innings at a healthy strike rate of 153 with three fifties.

Marco Jansen and Tristan Stubbs, too, have been important for PBKS and DC, respectively. Jansen is PBKS’ third-highest wicket-taker with 11 strikes, and Stubbs is Delhi’s third-highest scorer with 259 runs at a strike rate of 151.

While Rabada has not played in the IPL for a month due to his ban, he is one of the best fast bowlers in the world, and GT would slot him in the lineup straightaway.

The Qualifier 1 is on May 29, and the WTC final-bound South African players are reportedly scheduled to leave on May 30. So those whose teams will feature in Qualifier 1 may still play in it before departing.
