Life style life style, Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of overall treatment, and it not only focuses on what we eat, but also on food combinations. According to Ayurvedic principles, some food combinations should not be consumed as they can spoil digestion and create toxins (Ama). In the long run, it can cause imbalance in the body and even diseases. And so, according to Ayurveda, some food combinations that may look healthy in modern times can actually disrupt your stomach health and vitality. Therefore, here we list some food combinations that according to Ayurveda should be avoided at all costs for overall health:

Fruit milk

Smoothie – which contains fruits, milk or yogurt – are quite popular these days. However, Ayurveda warns against mixing milk and fruits. Why? Because, where the milk is cold and heavy, the fruits are sweet and some sour sour (ie acidic) – and this combination can slow down your digestion. Together, they disturb the body’s digestive fire (fire), causing swelling, sinus congestion and toxins. Over time, this combination can also lead to skin problems or respiratory problems. One way to make smoothie is that you drink almond milk instead of dairy milk.

Honey with hot water or hot milk

While honey, hot water or milk are all good when consumed separately, mixing honey in Ayurveda with warm water or warm milk is completely forbidden. Reason: According to Ayurveda, it is believed that when honey is cooked or its temperature is increased, it becomes poison.

4/6

Ghee and honey together

In Ayurveda, both ghee and honey are considered medicinal. But when they are mixed in equal amounts, they produce toxic reactions. Honey has the property of heating, while the ghee should cool, and their balance should be maintained carefully. If it is consumed, this combination can produce Amma and can spoil the digestive and metabolism of the person. In contrast, it is considered fine to consume uneven amount of ghee and honey together, and in the same way they are used in many Ayurvedic yogas.

Chicken

Chicken

Milk, chicken and fish are all considered nutritious foods. But they should not be eaten together. The reason for this is that the nature of milk is cold, while chicken and fish are salty and warm. And so, when eaten together, this combination can disrupt digestion and produce toxins in the body. According to Ayurveda, over time, this combination can cause skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis. This collision of energies confuses the digestive system, which makes Ama (unbearable residue). Therefore, just avoid eating them together.

Fruit with water

Fruit with water

According to Ayurveda, the ideal time to eat fruits occurs on an empty stomach in the morning and at least 30 minutes before or after meals. This is because the fruits are digested quickly, while other foods (especially grains, protein or dairy) take more time. By eating them together, fruits in the stomach become fermented, which can cause problems like gas, flatulence or indigestion. This can cause toxins and can cause obstruction of nutrients absorption.
