At the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Bollywood star Anupam Kher reconnected with friend and renowned actor Robert De Niro.

At Cannes 2025, the honorary Palme d’Or award for Lifetime Achievement went to Hollywood actor Robert De Niro. ‘Tanvi the Great’ will have its international debut on May 17 at the film festival, and renowned Indian actor Anupam Kher is also attending.

‘Silver Linings Playbook’ was the last time the two stars appeared together on the big screen. Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper played the main parts as well.

According to a press release from Anupam Kher’s office, the two lifelong friends used the festival as a chance to meet up, and Kher spoke to him about his project.

Additionally, he presented debutante Shubhangi to Robert De Niro, who kindly sent her his warmest regards. Their cordial exchange exemplified the ethos of respect for one another and intercultural cooperation that is still fostered by events like Cannes.

Anupam posted many photos of his red carpet attire on his Instagram account as he made his way inside the auditorium for the movie showing.

The “Saaransh” star wore a black tuxedo and a bow tie in accordance with Cannes 2025’s formal dress code. As he welcomed his admirers on the red carpet, the celebrity looked dapper.

He captioned the images with the words “Red Carpet!” to denote his appearance at the esteemed Cannes Film Festival in 2025.

In addition to Anupam Kher and Shubhangi Dutt, the movie stars Karan Tacker, who has been working on television and streaming services for years and is about to make his big-screen debut in Khaki: The Bihar Chapter.

Important characters are played by Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, and Boman Irani. Iain Glen, who starred in Game of Thrones, also appears in the movie.

Resul Pookutty, the Academy Award-winning sound designer who worked on Slumdog Millionaire, created the soundtrack for Tanvi The Great.

In partnership with NFDC, Anupam Kher Studios is producing it. Tanvi The Great’s release date has not yet been disclosed.
