After Operation Sindoor, the central government is forming an all-party delegation to diplomatically corner Pakistan. Tharoor's name has been sought from Congress, but the party is in a dilemma about it. Even before Shashi Tharoor's stand on Pakistan, the Congress party seems to be in trouble.

After Operation Sindoor, the central government is going to form an all-party delegation to diplomatically corner Pakistan. This delegation will visit countries around the world and expose the false propaganda regarding the Pahalgam attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor on Pakistan. The central government has spoken to Congress party president Kharge and sought names for the delegation of MPs to be sent around the world against Pakistan. It is reported that the central government is in favour of including Shashi Tharoor in the delegation of MPs going abroad. The government offered to send Tharoor, after which the Congress party has said that the selection of members is an interim matter of the Congress and the party leadership will decide.

Congress party in dilemma

However, it is difficult to take a decision not to send Tharoor considering his understanding of international affairs and his tenure at the UN. A decision will be taken soon on whether Tharoor's name should be included in the list of Congress MPs or not. Some party leaders are dissatisfied with Tharoor's continuous statements in support of the Modi government. Even during the tension with Pakistan, Tharoor had given a statement different from the Congress party line, which caused a ruckus. Many strategists of Congress are not in favour of including Tharoor in the delegation of MPs going abroad. These MPs argue that Tharoor gave a statement deviating from the party line during the conflict with Pakistan. Not only this, after the ceasefire, when the entire party was questioning the PM about America's stance and Congress was running a campaign on Indira Gandhi as Iron Lady, even then Tharoor tried to undermine it.

Tharoor has a great understanding of international affairs

Perhaps the government had a hint of this, so in the talks with Kharge, the government demanded that Tharoor be sent, after which the party said that the selection of Congress members is an interim matter and the party leadership will decide. However, considering Tharoor's understanding of international affairs and his UN tenure, it is difficult to take a decision not to send him. A decision will soon be taken whether Tharoor's name should be included in the list of Congress MPs or not. Some party leaders are dissatisfied with Tharoor's continuous statements in support of the Modi government and even during the tension with Pakistan, he gave a statement different from the party line, which caused a ruckus. In recent times, Tharoor has been seen meeting the PM warmly on many occasions, after which speculations of his closeness to BJP have been made.
