Text messages between Cassie Ventura and Sean "Diddy" Combs have taken centre stage in his ongoing trial.
Apparently, the messages, read aloud in court, appear to show Cassie willingly participating in some of the "Freak Offs." Diddy's legal team is using them to counter her allegations of coercion.

The hip-hop artist's solicitors introduced the messages in an attempt to disprove Ms Ventura's allegations that she was forced to attend the parties.
In the New York trial of Combs, his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, is the star witness. She has stated that during the ten years she spent with the hip-hop mogul, she was made to participate in hundreds of "Freak Offs."
In an effort to show that Ms. Ventura was a willing participant in the infamous wild parties, Combs' attorney Anna Estevao showed her text messages during cross-examination yesterday.
“In your arms, I feel safe and secure. You are among the kindest, most genuine individuals.”
“I can't resist sitting down with you and envisioning a lovely future.”
Combs also wrote to Ms. Ventura on August 5, 2009, asking, "When do you want to freak off, LOL?"
In response, Ms. Ventura said, "LOL, I'm just going up to change." I'm always willing to freak out, lol. Ms. Ventura responded, "Somewhat typical," when asked if this was "typical" of her correspondence with Combs.
But by July 2012, it appeared that she had changed her mind once more, and Ms. Estevao read out messages implying that she had joined the "Freak Offs,” as per a report by the Daily Mail.
Jurors were shown pictures of Combs's bruises on Wednesday. In February 2012, Combs overdosed on painkillers at the Playboy Mansion, according to Ms. Ventura.
