Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy gave State Agriculture Department officials instructions to create an agriculture action plan for the next Kharif season in response to reports of the South West Monsoon starting early. The CM threatened to take strong action against firms who offer fake seeds and mislead farmers, and ordered authorities to make sure that enough seeds and fertilizer are available throughout the growing seasons in all districts.
Police officers and district collectors in every area have been urged to exercise caution and stop providing farmers with phony seeds and fertilizer. According to Revanth Reddy, the Police and Agriculture Departments have to work together to execute task force raids at the district level and maintain vigilant surveillance throughout all state borders.
The CM directed authorities to take tough measures against farmers who defraud them in an effort to curb the threat of bogus seeds. Information on the transportation, storage facilities, and phony seeds should be gathered by all authorities, who should then act legally and without exception. CM Revanth Reddy requested that the authorities file PD act charges against the vendors who gave farmers phony seeds. In order to ensure that farmers do not encounter any challenges, Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao has been tasked with conducting frequent meetings with Collectors, SPs, and Police Commissioners on the availability of seeds and fertilizers.
At the Secretariat, CM Revanth Reddy and Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao reviewed the readiness for the next kharif season with representatives from the Agriculture Department. In light of the high levels of paddy and cotton farming in the next growing season, the authorities informed the Chief Minister that sufficient seeds and fertilizers are currently available in all districts. The market will also carry the seeds of all businesses that are in demand.
In light of the early start of the monsoon season and the potential for early rains in the State, the Chief Minister assured farmers that they do not need to worry about fertilizers and seeds this time. Instead, they should focus on the IMD prediction. It is recommended that farmers cease purchasing phony seeds and begin planting crops at the appropriate time. Additionally, he recommended that farmers forgo purchasing loose seeds and hold onto the invoices and information on the seed packets until the conclusion of the harvest season.
