On March 24 of this year, Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul welcomed a daughter into the world. They shared the good news on Instagram, revealing that they had called their little bundle of joy Evaarah, which translates to “gift of God.” Her father, Suniel Shetty, posted a vintage photo of him holding newborn Athiya in his arms to commemorate the occasion of Athiya’s recent first Mother’s Day. In response, she declared that she would always be his child. Suniel talks exclusively to News18 Showsha about his daughter becoming a mother, expressing his happiness at being a grandfather.

He shares some moving details from the delivery room, including the fact that she opted for a normal birth rather than a C-section. In a society where everyone desires the convenience of a cesarean delivery, she opted for a natural birth instead. He says, “I remember how every pediatrician and nurse in the hospital said that it’s unbelievable how she went through the entire process.” Suniel became stunned by it and realized the inner power his daughter had.

The actor goes on, “That hit me as a father,” adding that he is now anticipating the release of Kesari Veer. I said, “She’s ready!” Athiya had the strength to do it. He tells us that he would credit that to his wife, Mana Shetty, saying, “Athiya probably absorbed all of that from her mother, who is a strong woman herself.” I must say again how gorgeous Athiya is as a mother. She has never once shown signs of tension, a scowl, or signs of weariness and exhaustion.

He also acknowledges that Athiya has really left him speechless. “Motherhood is something that Athiya has embraced wholeheartedly. She is really amazing. All fathers consider their daughters to be infants. I too had doubts about her ability to manage parenting, yet she’s amazing! Every every day, I tell Mana how proud I am of Athiya. I’m so pleased with the way she’s adjusted to her new life, handled situations, and delivered her message. “She handled everything well,” he adds.

It’s true that Suniel is loving his new job as a grandfather. He and Athiya now communicate on social media about a lot of baby-related topics. “Kids dominate my Instagram feed. She continues giving me reels about grandparents and grandkids and their relationship, even if I’m sending her reels about daycare today,” he says.

Rahul just posted an unseen photo of Athiya holding Evaarah tight. In addition to the photo, he sent a touching letter complimenting her for her patience, grace, and fortitude in accepting parenthood. He commented that their daughter Evaarah is very fortunate to have Athiya as her mother and that he has grown even more in love with her as a result of seeing her assume this new role.
