The Bantwal Town Police have detained several individuals for questioning in connection with the stabbing of Hameed, a resident of Akkarangadi in Panemangalore.
Superintendent of Police Yateesh N. visited the crime scene and conducted an inspection. After gathering complete details about the incident, he directed officials to arrest the culprits at the earliest.
According to police sources, there had been previous altercations between two groups over personal issues. Investigators now suspect that the stabbing could be a continuation of those earlier disputes. Based on this suspicion, the police have initiated a multi-angle investigation and have already taken several people into custody for interrogation.
Following instructions from the SP, four teams have been formed to nab the accused under the direction of Bantwal DYSP and the supervision of Bantwal Town Police Inspector Ananthapadmanabha.
The injured victim, Hameed, is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru. Doctors have confirmed that he is out of danger. It has been reported that Hameed sustained a serious injury to his hand and has undergone surgery.
The attack occurred when Hameed was standing near Akkarangadi in Panemangalore. Unknown assailants approached him on a bike, stabbed him with a knife, and fled the scene.
