Shashank Singh played a fine, calculated, and improvised ramp shot against Akash Madhwal's bowling in the 19th over of the 59th match of the (Indian Premier League) between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The right-handed batter judged the line and length well and ramped the ball over the fine leg region.
Madhwal repeatedly intended to operate in the wide length and tried to take the ball away from the batters' reach at the death. Singh, who recognised the plans of the right-arm pacer, premeditated the ramp shot as he moved across the crease. Madhwal went for the wide yorker, and Shashank timed it perfectly, getting his bat on the ball.
The ramp shot was executed perfectly, as the ball was lofted enough to clear the fine leg fielder, who was inside the 30-yard circle. As fetched four runs for himself and PBKS, the members in the visiting side's pavilion were pleased. The commentators were impressed too, while the fielding side was not too happy with the shot.
