After a lot of wait the adrenaline rush finally kicked in as fans witnessed their favourite star – Tom Cruise on the big screen once again with the release of Mission Impossible 8. The movie was released in Indian theaters on May 17 2025 six days before its worldwide release. And just like it was expected it had a bumper opening. According to industry tracker Mission Impossible 8 box office day one collection stood at Rs 17.5 crore the highest for any Hollywood movie in India in 2025 so far. Mission Impossible 8 registered an overall 75.61% English occupancy. Earlier when in 2023 Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning was released in India the movie earned Rs 12 crore. However the day 1 collection of Mission Impossible 8 is better than any Marvel film ever released in the country. Mission Impossible 8 collection of day 1 is better than Captain America: Brave New World which minted Rs 4.2 crore. On the other hand Thunderbolts earned Rs 3.8 crore on day 1. Tom Cruises film’s collection is better than many Indian films such as Akshay Kumars Kesari 2 which earned Rs 7.5 crore and Sunny Deols Jaat which minted Rs 9.50 crore. About Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning Fans favourite Tom Cruise returns on the big screen and reprises his role of Ethan Hunt with Christopher McQuarrie once again at the helm. Since Rogue Nation it was McQuarrie who directed every instalment in the franchise. The seventh and eighth films were originally titled Dead Reckoning – Part One and Part Two. However the eighth has been renamed following the release of the seventh. Apart from Tom Cruise the movie also features Hayley Atwell Ving Rhames Simon Pegg Vanessa Kirby Pom Klementieff Shea Whigham Angela Bassett Esai Morales Henry Czerny Holt McCallany Nick Offerman and Greg Tarzan Davis. Mission Impossible 8 was released in four languages including English Hindi Tamil and Telugu.
