Doordarshan was among the most prominent TV channels in the 1980s and 1990s. The channel became quite famous for its mythological shows- one of them was Ramanand Saagar’s Ramayana which was widely enjoyed by masses. In that time the key actors of the show were the talk of the town. However with the passage of time and new generations coming in they faded into oblivion.
Today we will talk about one such actor who played the character of Anand on Ramanand Sagars epic television series. His name is Bashir Khan. He rose to fame after his pivotal portrayal of Anand- who was the son of Vali and Tara on the show. One of his most iconic scenes as Anand was when he decides to foot firmly in Ravanas court challenging anyone to movie it reflecting his determination strength and commanding presence.
Beyond Ramayana Bashir Khan also starred in other renowned mythological shows including B.R. Chopras Mahabharat (1988) and Shri Krishna (1993) further solidifying his place in the Indian Television industry. His performance left a lasting impact and carved a special place in audiences hearts.
Bashir Khan began his acting career through Ramanand Saagar’s popular show at the time Vikram Betal. However the recognition he got was after portraying the character of Anand in Ramayana with viewers till date remembering his contributions to the classic series.
Well there hasnt been much information available about his current whereabouts. According to reports Bashir is still looking for such breakthrough roles where he can prove his mettle as an actor.
