If you make an online payment, then there is news of work for you. Many times it happens that when you make an online payment to someone, the money gets transferred to the wrong account. Now NPCI has given a big relief to crores of UPI users. NPCI has come up with such a feature that now money will not be transferred to the wrong account.
Since the increase in the reach of internet and smartphones, the trend of digital payment has also increased rapidly in the country. Now most people make payments through UPI in many daily routine works. In UPI, users get such a facility that users can transfer the largest amount from one account to another within a few seconds. However, many times a big problem in UPI is that money gets transferred to another account in a hurry. If you have ever faced such a problem, then now such problems are going to end completely.
To eliminate the problem of money being transferred to the wrong account, a big step has been taken by NPCI. NPCI has implemented a new rule for this. NPCI's new feature will help keep your hard-earned money safe. Let us give you information about the new feature.
NPCI's new rule
NPCI has ended the big tension of crores of UPI users. After NPCI's new feature, now your money will not be able to go to another account even by mistake. Actually, according to the new rule of NPCI, whenever a person makes payment to someone through UPI, the same name of the sender's account will be visible which will be written on the core banking system of his bank.
In simple words, now you will not be able to transfer money based on the name saved in your phone. Now you will see the real name of that user written on the bank record in the display. With this facility, you will know even before transferring the money that you are sending the money to the same person to whom you want to send.
The new rule will be applicable from these days
According to NPCI, this new rule will be applicable on P2P (Peer to Peer) and P2PM (Peer to Peer Merchant) transactions. The real purpose of the new rule is to give the correct account holder information to crores of UPI users so that their money remains safe and there is no scope for confusion. Now if you select the wrong name from the contact list at the time of online payment, then you will get information about it before the payment.
This new rule of NPCI will be applicable across the country from June 30, 2025. This is going to provide great convenience to crores of Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and BHIM users across the country. All these platforms will have to update this change on their system as soon as possible.
