Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) will enter the field for a special purpose in 2025. In the match against Lucknow Super Gynts (LSG) on 22 May, Gujarat’s team will wear lavender color jersey instead of traditional blue jersey. This match will start at 7:30 pm at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

GT initiative for cancer awareness

Lavender color is associated with awareness of all types of cancer. The Gujarat Titans will pay respect to those who have fought this jersey and give a message that timely investigation and strong intention can be helpful in fighting the disease.

The team said on its social media, “Strength is not only on the field, but also to stand for any good work.” This initiative is not only limited to cricket, but is also to spread awareness about cancer in the society and to promote research and support to it.

Gujarat Titans have appealed to the fans to be a part of this initiative. If you want, wear lavender colored clothes or cooperate in any social initiative to cancer. This match will not only bring an exciting cricket, but also an emotional message.

Gujarat qualified for playoffs

Gujarat Titans are currently at the top of the points table. Under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, the team has secured 18 points by winning 9 out of 12 matches. With this, the team has qualified for IPL 2025 playoffs. The goal of GT is to stay in the top-2 and get two opportunities to make it to the finals. Gujarat has two league matches left, which are to be played against Lucknow and Chennai Super Kings.

Apart from Gujarat, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have also qualified for the playoffs.
