Cauliflower tends to have a very bland and boring taste, as most people are cooking it wrong. It may seem like common sense to boil cauliflower, but it is a very absorbent that tastes so much better if with spices and other condiments.
Jamie Vespa, a dietitian and founder of , has shared her favourite way to cauliflower: roasting it with a few tablespoons of olive oil. She said, "You need a generous amount of olive oil for roasting, which encourages optimal browning. Olive oil is a fantastic source of polyphenols and heart-healthy fats, so there's no need to skimp!"
Olive oil helps other ingredients stick to the cauliflower, enhancing the flavour and caramelising its natural sugars.
This helps make the cauliflower golden and crispy on the outside while still being tender on the inside, making it a much tastier vegetable side dish.
How to make cauliflower taste better You will need (to serve four people):To begin with, preheat the oven to 220°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
Wash the cauliflower and cut it into evenly sized florets so they cook at the same time. Try to get as many flat edges as you can, as it will help the caramelisation process.
Place the cauliflower florets into a large bowl. Add the olive oil and then season with paprika, salt and pepper. Toss everything together so the florets are fully coated.
Put the baking tray in the oven for roughly five minutes to heat it up, so the cauliflower begins cooking as soon as it hits the tray.
Once the time is up, put the cauliflower on the tray and arrange the florets so they are not touching.
Roast the cauliflower for 20 minutes until golden brown. Make sure to turn them halfway through cooking so each side is beautifully browned.
Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese and minced garlic over the cauliflower, then return it to the oven for five more minutes.
When it is done cooking, splash a little lemon juice on top of the florets, garnish with parsley, and your mouthwatering side dish is ready to eat.
