BCCI has taken a big decision regarding India’s participation in the Asia Cup. According to the recent reports, in view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, BCCI has decided to stay away from this multinational tournament for the present. Under this, Team India will no longer participate in the upcoming Asia Cup. The BCCI has informed the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) about this decision.

BCCI pulled hands from the Asia Cup!
The BCCI will now boycott the Emerging Asia Cup of the upcoming women (which is going to be in Sri Lanka next month). Also, Team India’s absence from the Mains Asia Cup to be held in September is almost certain. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is the chairman of the Pakistani Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Why did BCCI boycott Asia Cup?
According to sources, the BCCI has taken this decision with the intention of isolating Pakistan cricket. The Indian team will no longer participate in the tournament that is commanded by a Pakistani minister. Sources said that this is a decision to the sentiments of the country and that is why the BCCI has informed the ACC to withdraw the name from the Emerging Asia Cup next month. The BCCI has also made it clear that their participation in this tournament in future will be postponed for the present. The BCCI is constantly in touch with the Indian government.

BCCI’s decision threatens Mains Asia Cup!
This decision of BCCI is also facing a crisis on the Mains Asia Cup to be held in September. Sources quoted that if Team India stays out of Asia Cup, its event will not be very effective. Organizing the Asia Cup without India, especially without the India-Pakistan match, will be a big blow for the tournament, as this match is not only exciting for the audience, but also for broadcasters and sponsors. Apart from India, teams from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan participate in the Asia Cup.
