While promoting his latest film, ' Maaman ,' in Madurai, actor Soori shared heartfelt moments with fans as he watched the film alongside them. Interacting with the media later, Soori expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support. He highlighted how family-centric films continue to receive strong responses, stating that 'Maaman' has touched a chord with audiences across Tamil Nadu. “People are coming to theaters as families, 10 to 15 members at a time, to watch the film. From children to elders, even couples leave the theaters with tears in their eyes,” he said.

Strong stand against extreme fan celebrations

Responding to a viral video where some fans ate mann soru (food served directly on the floor) in celebration of his film’s success, Soori strongly discouraged such acts. “If my own children did this, I wouldn’t accept it. Celebrate happiness, enjoy the success, but there are better ways to express joy. No actor encourages such extreme forms of fan celebration,” he said firmly. He emphasized that his only focus is to choose good stories and spread happiness through cinema and that 'Maaman' was a film worth celebrating for its emotional depth and values.

Commitment to meaningful cinema and lead roles

Soori further added that he hopes more filmmakers step forward to create meaningful films like 'Maaman.' He mentioned that many talented directors are available, and he is also ready to act in such projects. “Playing lead roles comes with increased responsibility. I am prepared to take that on. I also plan to visit Alagar temple next year,” he said, reflecting a blend of professional focus and personal spiritual intent.

Politics not a priority, cinema journey continues.

When asked if he would campaign in the upcoming 2026 elections, Soori responded with humility. “It’s a good thing, but I have a lot of responsibilities here. I need to protect the space I’ve earned in cinema. The journey is still long. For now, I continue as a son of the soil, walking my path in the film industry. I don't know when what you're expecting will happen,” he concluded.
