Ropeway is no longer the source of transport, but has become an exciting part of tourism. It not only makes it easy to cross the high mountains, but also delivers it to places where it is almost impossible to reach on foot. Sitting in a moving chair car from above, seeing the river flowing down, dense forest and snow -covered peaks mesmerize everyone.
There are many tourist spots in India which have become more special due to the ropeway. Gondola Rope, built in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir, is the highest ropeway in India and the second highest ropeway in Asia. It goes up to 13,000 feet and the cedar forest and icy mountains from there look no less than a postcard.
At the same time, the ropeway of Auli (Uttarakhand) is also very famous which connects Joshimath. This 4 -kilometer long journey sounds like a film scene, where the snowy peaks of the Himalayas float before your eyes. The special thing is that Auli ropeway is considered one of the longest ropeways in Asia and in winter the view here becomes even more spectacular.
The ropeway leading to Manali’s Solang Valley is also very popular. In winter, snow mountains and apple orchard are seen together. Valley’s panoramic view from the chair car seems as if there is an art gallery which has gone live.
Gangtok (Sikkim) also has a great ropeway, which shows the beauty of the city closely. It is 1 km long and seeing the hills of Kanchanjanga is nothing short of a dream. At the same time, Girnar Ropeway of Junagadh (Gujarat) is also associated with religious sentiments. It is 2.3 km long and devotees reach the temple from it, the forest of Gir also appears on the way.
If we talk about Madhya Pradesh, then the ropeway of Bhedaghat near Jabalpur is a hidden treasure. The Narmada flows from the middle of the marble rocks and there is also a great waterfall nearby. Watching all these together in a 15-20-minute ropeway ride gives a very exciting experience.
