A section of Manchester city centre has been cordoned off following a knife attack.

A 31-year-old man was found with injuries on Oldham Street at around 2.15pm and has been taken to hospital. His attacker remains on the loose.

No arrests have been made as of yet but a heavy a police presence remains in the area as the force investigates.

The incident prompted an air ambulance to land in Piccadilly Gardens, with and paramedics all in attendance as hundreds watched on.
