New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has taken a big decision regarding the 20 rupee note. The RBI will soon issue new 20 rupee notes under the Mahatma Gandhi (New) series. After this, people are questioning whether a 2000 rupee note will be closed like a 2000 rupee note? What will be a new note?

RBI, while announcing the issue of 20 rupee notes, has made it clear that the design and features of the new 20 rupee notes will be the same as the already running notes. In addition, old notes will remain in trend as before. The 20 rupee note will be signed by the current Governor of RBI Sanjay Malhotra.

No special change in new note: RBI

The RBI has told about the new 20 rupee note that they are not going to make any special changes in it. The design and feature of the new note will be the same as the old 20 rupee note. At the same time, the new note will be light green-yellow color, whose size will be similar to the current note.

Along with this, there will be a beautiful picture of ‘Ellora’s caves’ on the back side of the new 20 rupee note, which will show India’s rich cultural heritage. Earlier, the image of the ‘Sun Temple’ was visible on the note, which will now be changed.

RBI changes from time to time

The change in the 20 rupee note is not new. The Reserve Bank of India periodically changes the notes, this is a common process. It is done several times even after the new governor took over. This does not make any kind of difference on the trend of old notes. These changes are made to improve security reasons and notes. But, old notes are always valid. RBI has clarified that all old 20 rupee notes will be valid as before. The old notes present in the market will not be withdrawn.
