Tall, quick, and full of energy, Blessing Muzarabani has become a key figure in Zimbabwe’s team over the last few years.
Born in a small town called Murewa, Blessing started off playing cricket in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. Like many fast bowlers, he made his way up through the domestic system, and by the time he was 21, he was handed his Test debut—a big moment, coming in the Boxing Day match of 2017 against South Africa.
Soon after that, he played in ODIs and T20Is as well. But his real breakthrough came in 2020, after the world had just started recovering from the COVID-19 lockdowns. That’s when Blessing grabbed headlines.
In a match against Pakistan, not only did he take his first five-wicket haul, but he also became the hero in the Super Over, picking up two wickets and helping Zimbabwe win. It was one of those rare games where Zimbabwe stunned a big team, and Blessing Muzarabani was at the heart of it.
Since then, he’s been one of their main pace options, and even though Zimbabwe doesn’t play as much cricket as the top nations, players like Blessing remind us that talent exists everywhere—you just need the chance to show it.
