Lucknow: In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rathi and Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Abhishek Sharma clashed. The match was played between Lucknow and Hyderabad on Monday, where the two players got entangled. The video went viral on social media. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bowler Digvesh Singh has been fined 50 percent of the match fee for violation of IPL code of conduct during his team’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lucknow on Monday. Along with this, a match has also been banned on the player.

The statement issued by the IPL said, “Since he has five demerit points in this session – due to which he is suspended for a match – so Digvesh will no longer play in the next match of LSG which is to be against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on 22 May.”

On the other hand, an IPL statement further said, “Sunrisers Hyderabad all -rounder Abhishek Sharma has been fined 25 percent of the match fee for violation of the IPL code of conduct during the match against Lucknow Super Giants. The player has also got a demerit point.”

The incident occurred during the 8th over during the match when Digvesh caught Abhishek in Deep and celebrated the wicket in his style. But soon after, there was a sharp debate between the two players. The debate increased so much that the field umpires had to come for intervening. Seeing the matter becoming serious, Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant came in the middle and immediately intervened.
