Google Find My Device: Google has introduced a new version of its popular feature Find My Device, which will now be known as "Find Hub". During the Android Show event, which was held just a week before Google I/O 2025, the company announced that the service will now be more powerful and comprehensive than before.
This service of Google, which was previously limited to finding only lost Android phones or devices, will now be able to track many other items as well. It will include features like location tracking via satellite, new Bluetooth tags, and partnerships with several airline companies.
Launched in 2013
Initially this feature was an Android alternative to Apple's Find My. But last year, a big change happened when Google launched a crowdsourced network that allowed people to find personal items using third-party Bluetooth trackers like Chipolo and Pebblebee.
Now Google has added many more partners whose devices already have location tracking. This includes luggage brands like July and Mokobara whose bags can now be easily tracked. With Peak integration, things like skis can also be tracked. Pixbee's new Bluetooth tags for kids and family are also joining this system. Apart from this, by the end of this month, users will be able to find Motorola's moto tags with the help of ultra-wideband (UWB) technology.
Satellite-based tracking support will come by the end of 2025
Google also said that the satellite-based location finding feature will be launched by the end of 2025. This will make it possible to find lost devices even in places where mobile network or internet is not available.
Now you will also get connection with airlines
Google has also announced partnerships with several international airlines to make it easier for passengers to track their luggage. This partnership comes after Apple's Find My airline integration. Airlines that have joined Google include Aer Lingus, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Iberia, and Singapore Airlines.
