According to authorities on Tuesday, loco pilots’ vigilance prevented an attempt to derail two trains, including a Rajdhani Express, in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district.
According to the police, around kilometer marker 1129/14 on Monday night, unknown criminals fastened wooden blocks to the track between Dalelnagar and Umartali stations using earthing wire, as reported by PTI.
Upon detecting the impediment, the loco pilot of a Rajdhani Express (20504) traveling from Delhi to Dibrugarh, Assam, engaged the emergency brake. According to investigators, he took it off and told train personnel.
After the Rajdhani Express, a second attempt was attempted to derail a Kathgodam Express (15044). According to PTI, police said that the loco pilot’s alertness prevented it.
On Monday night, Superintendent Neeraj Kumar Jadaun visited the location and gave the required directions.
Teams from the Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force, and local police are investigating the occurrences, the superintendent stated.
