Now that Igli Tare seems to be the new Milan director of sport, there are reports his first choice of coach is Vincenzo Italiano, casting aside Maurizio Sarri due to their tension.
Multiple reports today suggested that the Rossoneri offered the job to Tare, having previously held several meetings and remained unconvinced.
According to Sportitalia Transfer Expert Alfredo Pedullà and Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan only turned to Tare after one last attempt to convince Atalanta to release their director of sport Tony D’Amico was rejected last night.
Tare ready to transform Milan strategy

If D’Amico had been appointed, then the Diavolo were planning to go for Sarri as their new coach, but that becomes extremely unlikely with Tare at the helm.
This is because Tare left Lazio in 2023 after a lengthy 15 years largely due to his tension with Sarri, so the pair would not want to be reunited at San Siro.

His first choice would be Italiano, who is under contract with Bologna until June 2026 and considering a new deal after winning the Coppa Italia.
