As the United States did with one of the masterminds of the 26/11 Mumbai terror incident, India’s Ambassador to Israel J P Singh has said that Pakistan should turn over top terrorists Hafiz Saeed, Sajid Mir, and Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi to India.

Singh has advocated for the creation of an international alliance to combat terrorism, arguing that it is a worldwide threat. Singh emphasized that India’s Operation Sindoor against Pakistan is “paused” and “not over” in an interview with Israeli TV station i24 on Monday.

Singh described the events that preceded India’s attack and said that the operation was directed against Pakistani terrorist organizations. In response to the Pahalgam assault on April 22, the Indian ambassador said, “Terrorists killed people based on their religion and 26 innocent lives were lost.”

The “root cause is these two groups — Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba,” Singh said, citing a lengthy history of terror acts in India that started in Pakistan.

He pointed out that the leaders of LeT, the group responsible for the Mumbai assault that also claimed the lives of numerous Jews, are still at large.

The envoy said, “They have to do a very basic thing — when the preamble includes goodwill and friendship, they just need to hand these terrorists over to us.”

The ambassador, who has previously worked in Pakistan, pointed out that the United States had deported Rana, who was involved in the Mumbai attack, and suggested Islamabad might follow suit.

“Why can’t Pakistan turn these criminals over when the US can? He emphasized that all they need to do is turn over Hafeez Saeed, Lakhvi, and Sajid Mir, and the situation would be resolved.
