As a young artist, Silambarasan TR was known as Little Superstar, but as he grew older, he changed his name to “Young Superstar.” At that time, he desired the prefix Rajinikanth, which is currently associated with his name. All of it was a long time ago. Simbu is now seen angrily declaring that he is the next “Rengaraya Shakthivel,” the role of Kamal Haasan in Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life.

When questioned why his newfound humility has replaced his playful character, Silambarasan smirked, indicating that the shift is apparent. I suppose I was behaving like my age. When I was younger, I was mischievous and wicked. I comprehend things somewhat now. Therefore, be mature. At a press conference, Silambarasan told News18 Showsha, “I would have regretted not being all those.”

Thug Life is his second collaboration with Mani Ratnam; their first was Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, in which he played Ethi, the youngest brother who is irreverent and distant but yet manages to win his parents’ affection. Despite being a multi-starrer, the movie benefited Simbu, who was having a bad career, by overcoming the charges made against him by the producers of his previous works.

Simbu has achieved several spiritual awakenings and shed a few pounds since then. The word “Young Superstar” has been substituted with “Atman,” which is defined as a “Eternal being” in Hindu literature. Thus, it would have been intriguing to have Atman Simbu and Kamal Haasan, who claims to be an atheist, live together on the Thug Life sets. But there weren’t any conflicts of ideology.

“Everyone has an inner force that keeps the planet turning. We might refer to it as “God” or whatever else we choose. It is a person’s viewpoint. Since believing is a personal system, I think both people are correct if they declare there is no God and someone else thinks there is. That’s how I perceive it,” Simbu said when asked whether he and his seasoned co-star ever engaged in such philosophical arguments.

Silambarasan acknowledged that he could learn a lot from Kamal Haasan, but he acknowledged that the hardest aspect was getting over his obsession with the icon’s performance. “I learned a lot from him; therefore, I can’t be explicit about what I learned. Every day, something occurs. The challenging aspect is that we forget we are a part of the shot when he behaves. Rather, we are engrossed in appreciating every improvisation he creates,” he said.

“We are worried about our lines and costumes when we get into the sets,” he said. However, he observes everyone’s lines and actions. I can continue to think of a lot of things that I learned from him. Silambarasan was set to star in a movie that Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International was producing; however, it seems that the project has been shelved.

Nonetheless, the actor and director Ramkumar Balakrishnan have a potential movie in the works. Star Kayadu Lohar and Sai Abhyankar of Aasa Kooda fame will compose the music for the film, which is tentatively titled STR49.
