Janhvi Kapoor wowed at the 78th Festival de Cannes with her most lavish red carpet look to date, a dreamy custom creation by Anamika Khanna. The garment, which was designed by Rhea Kapoor, was a striking but sophisticated feature of the Homebound premiere. It was a perfect combination of traditional Indian adornment and couture craftsmanship.
For the event, Janhvi donned a couture gown with an antique gold corset bodice. Exquisite beading, sequin accents, and beautiful zardozi and aari embroidery covered the structured top, which hugged her form perfectly and featured spaghetti straps, an asymmetric neckline, and a dramatic backless cut that dropped gracefully to her lower back.
The satin skirt flowed into the bodice in a pastel sage green, creating a soft A-line. The gorgeous train of the skirt, embellished with subtle pleats at the waist and exquisite thread embroidery, added movement and grandeur to every step she took.
In line with her own style, Janhvi’s jewelry added flair to the outfit. Ancient gold, jade, and jadau were among the traditional and customized goods she wore. Wearing a royal necklace backwards to highlight her bare back was the standout piece. The costume was finished with gilded ear cuffs, intricate bangles, and jhumkas.
Janhvi’s makeup, which included winged eyeliner, glossy lips, sparkling lids, a strawberry-toned glow, and the ideal amount of shimmer on the cheekbones, complemented the airy nature of the outfit. She wore her hair in a tight ponytail with a center parting that was twisted to frame her face and draw attention to her jewels.
