After Hong Kong, Singapore, China and Thailand, Covid-19 has returned to India as well, Centre issues alert, know how many cases have been reported so far
Coronavirus in India: Coronavirus can once again wreak havoc. In the last few days, many cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country. The Health Ministry has shared an update regarding this. According to a PTI report, 257 active cases of Covid have been registered in the country till May 19. Cases have started increasing in other countries as well as India.
There has been a huge increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in Asia. Most of these cases are of the JN1 variant. According to the Health Ministry, 164 cases have been reported in the country till May 12. Kerala has reported the highest number of cases at 69. Covid-19 has also knocked in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Many cases have been reported in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu as well. The central government has issued an alert regarding this.
Where and how many corona virus cases were registered in the country
Kerala has registered the highest number of cases in the country. Maharashtra is second on the list. 34 cases have been reported in Tamil Nadu. 8 new cases have been reported in Karnataka, 6 in Gujarat and 3 in Delhi. One new case has been reported in Haryana, Rajasthan and Sikkim. The Health Ministry said that there are 95 active cases in Kerala.
Apart from India, Covid has also knocked in other countries
Covid has again knocked in many Asian countries. According to Nation Thailand, 31 cases were registered in Hong Kong during the week ending on May 3. In Singapore, the estimated number of Covid-19 cases in the week from April 27 to May 3 was 14,200, which was higher than the figures of the previous week. Last week 11,100 cases were registered.
Due to which version of Corona, the cases increased
The JN.1 variant, which is a descendant of the Omicron BA.2.86 variant, is the main cause of the rise in COVID-19 cases in Southeast Asia. According to the World Health Organization, the JN.1 variant has about 30 mutations and among them are LF.7 and NB.1.8, which are the two most common versions in recently reported cases.
