Cairo: The president of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, has denounced the firing at a diplomatic delegation by Israeli soldiers while it was visiting the Jenin refugee camp as shameful and a flagrant breach of the Vienna Conventions and international law.
Al Yamahi said that the incident is an unwarranted provocation and a hazardous escalation that reflects an aggressive strategy against diplomatic missions and the Palestinian people. He demanded an immediate global response.
He urged the UN Security Council and the UN to hold Israel responsible for its breaches and emphasized the need to provide international safety for delegations in the Palestinian territory.
He called for an early halt to the conflict and the arrival of medical and humanitarian supplies, and he reiterated the Arab Parliament’s support for the rights of the Palestinian people, including the creation of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
