NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:04AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.
LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.34 per cent) were among the top gainers.
HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.61 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.58 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.36 per cent) and Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd.(down 1.31 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 1.15 per cent at 37110.2 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 211.75 points at 24601.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 684.2 points at 80912.43.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 5 were trading in the green, while 45 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Teleservices, NTPC Green Energy, YES Bank and NALCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of VRL Logistics, Interarch Building, Stampede Cap(DVR), Kanpur Plastip and Silgo Retail hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Aditya Birla Retail, R K Swamy, Lakshmi Precis, Supreme Infra and Digjam hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
